We want to keep the App simple for our two sets of user groups:
(a) Data creators (educators)
(b) Data consumers (students/parents)
Two app helps to achieve better user experience for both user groups.
(a) Students and Parents – Install “Student Version” app (App Name is “GoToStudent”)
(b) Educators – Install “Educator Version” app (App Name is “GoToStu-Edu”)
We currently have both versions of the app in Android. We are planning to have the Student app in iOS (iPhone) – this work is in progress.
We support Google login. You need to register your google email id in ”GoToStudent” for your first time access. Then log on everytime using your gmail id and password. If you don't have a Google account you will need to create one first.
At the the GoToStudent app Log In screen you will see “Register New Account”. Clicking it will take you to new account setup screen. You need an active account before you try login, so please setup a account before trying to login.
The important thing when you setup new account is (1) your email (2) you phone number.
(*) Your email has to be same as your “Google account”.
(*) Your phone number should be same as the one used by your educators(schools,college, etc).
Student invites from educators are distributed by the phone number, so please make sure you have same number.
No. Only one account per student is necessary. A student can use one account to connect to multiple educators and receive all the communications from them into a single account.
If you are a parent setting up account for kids, setup one account per kid using your google email. Then you can access all your kids account with single login and switch between kids account.
Your Educator will send you an invite by your phone number. You will see it under “My Invites”, click Accept and you are connected. You can check “My Membership” to confirm you are connected – give it couple of seconds or refresh to show up.
An Invite to a student is automatically generated by Educator when they set up a new student. Invites are sent using Student's phone number used by the educator. If the phone number is different, then student won't get the invite. In this case, educator can correct the student phone number and click “Resend Invite” from “Member List ---> Member Detail screen menu option”. It could be because the phone number used in your account and the phone number used by your educator are different. Request your educator to use the correct phone number and resend the invite from Educator end.
Yes, if a student have his/her own account, they can give an extra access permission to their parents.
Go to student account profile-->Settings-->”Add New Setting” menu--->choose “Access List”. Click “+” next to “Access List” and enter your parent’s Google email id. Once it's done the parent can login using their Google email id and access your account by clicking “Switch Account”.

Parent can login using their own Google sign in account and then click “Switch Account” from navigation bar.
No, there is no limit on the number of students an educator can setup. A tuition centre can setup very few students whereas a school or college can setup 1000+ students without any limit.

Yes. When you have more number of students, you can import all students in a excel sheet in one shot. Sample excel document is give at the end of faq.

If you are exporting student from another software system, you can keep your own student id if you would like. This way, you can keep composing your data such as student list, student assessment by using same student ids in a excel document. And you can import those excel data into GoToStudent using those student ids. We call it “Reference Id” in GoToStudent – it supports any numeric or nonnumeric student id from your software system.
Get list of students in Member List screen, then long click the list to select students and click “Add to Group” icon in top.

Yes. You can create data in excel, but before you upload into GoToStudent app, you “must” save it as CSV file(with ; as separator – semicolon as separator).
Before upload, we strongly recommend two things for successful upload:
(1) Make sure none of your data have semicolon(;), like comment text, etc.
(2) Open the CSV file a textpad and make sure the fields are separated by semicolon(;), not any other character.
Semicolon separated CSV are simple to generate from various sources. Easy to generate from commonly used Excel, other software applications and even simple notepad.
Yes, you can down student list from GoToStudent as Semicolon separated CSV file. You can open it using excel and edit. Go to “Member List” -->Get student-->Menu option “Download”. File will saved as “member_list.txt” under “Download/g2s_edu” folder in your device.

Note: Assessment data excel file can have either ”Reference Id” (used when student was setup) or the “Member Id” (generated by g2s, you can get by downloading student list). Column-2 should have either one of this id to identify the student.
Yes. You can have one master excel doc with all students per assessment with subject titles in the header and one student per row with their assessment data. When you are ready to upload, save the excel document as CSV file with semicolon separator. Verify CSV by opening in notepad.
Yes. When you upload the CSV with multiple student, the upload step will show the results and the list of student imported, but not yet saved. Before saving, click each student to verify the assessment data then click “Save”. It will be sent to students only when you click Save button. So, you can safely preview the assessment data before saving or sending to student.
